MANVENTURE STRIKES AGAIN!
Now that winter is starting to subside some of us are getting a little antsy to get out and ride.
It must be time to begin planning the next Man-Venture. Several of the crew has already convened and started to plan our next trip.
We would like anyone wanting to participate in this trip to meet at Swenson's Ice Cream On Feb 2nd for a Man-Venture Trip Meeting
So without further ado here is our proposed Trip for March of 2013
Man-Venture Coastal Extravaganza
MARCH 14 - 17, 2013
The main Idea is to camp near the ocean around Santa Cruz Ca. for a couple of days and spend our time riding and exploring the coastline and mountains North and South of our campground.
WEDNESDAY - PRE TRIP PACKING
The day before we leave we will need to pack all our stuff up in the trailers and be prepared to leave as soon as work is over on thursday.
Day 1 - Thursday March 14
On thursday the 14th after everyone is done with work for the day we will all drive over the hill pulling our bikes and camping gear behind us in Chads largest Trailer. Hopefully we can all fit in the car.
We really want to enjoy our camping experience while near the beach so feel free to bring what you need to be comfortable. While we are out riding we can lock up and store our camping crap in the trailer so there is really no need to be conscious about how much you pack. Just as long as it will either fit in the back of the truck or be thrown in the trailer with the bikes. I certainly won't complain about anyone wearing their slippers (unless they are pink) !
The idea is to get to Santa Cruz by about 9:00 or so and camp the night. Yes we will have to set up in the dark but that is what makes it a man-venture.

| DAY 1 Thursday - Driving from Reno to Santa Cruz |
DAY 2 - Friday March 15 ( the Ides of March)
Day two is a ride from Santa Cruz up into the mountains along the pacific coast. Little known to the common man but world famous amongst bikers, these mountain roads and twisting trails are world famous motorcycle territory. Along the way we will ride through fog, amongst the bet disigned roads in the country stopping to see a historic motorcycle land Mark at Alice's restaurant.

In 1967 activist musician Arlo Guthrie Wrote a song called Alice's restaurant as well as a song called " the motorcycle song" Soon there after a themed restaurant was opened in the mountains along the coastline, which tells the story of the song. I highly suggest putting this 15 minute plus song onto your I pod for the trip.
On our trip we hope to stop off at Alice's for a cup of hot chocolate or a quick bight before heading off onto our next destination.

Our goal on day 2 is to make it to the north end of the Golden Gate bridge at which point we hope to take a picture for the Man-Venture Crew with the icon of America behind us.
If we choose too there are many things to do in the city, like purchase contraband firworks from china town, or maybe even film Mark W getting air off of one of SF's Famous steep hilled streets, We could Ride down the most curvy road in the country or eat down at fishermans warf, It would be good to discuss our Plans when we go to Swensons.

Then Back on down the coast line to our camping spot in Santa Cruz.
We can choose to fish from the Pier or eat at one of many fun locations in the beach city
On a trip we took about a year ago Mark, Matt and John Went fishing off of this pier and had a blast! Hopefully we can do it again ( no fishing license required when fishing off of a public pier)
Day 3 Saturday - Southern Trip
ON day three our plan is to ride south from Santa Cruz in search of everything the coast line has to offer us.
This section of the Historic Highway 1 ( also called the Pacific Coast Highway) is famous for its vues, the construction of the road, the spectacular light houses and also the ocean wildlife viewing areas along the way.
Our main destination at mid day is to be somewhere near Herst Castlse where we can chose to take the tour of the Famous Movie producers private Castle and all the grounds around it.
William Randolf Hearst is quite the character, however the architecture of this castle alone is enough to inspire awe in even the most tasteless of Cretonne.
Day 4 - Sunday
The main goal of Sunday is to enjoy the world around us. Camping along the coast, sleeping in if we want to and eventually going to sacrament meeting dressed up as a biker gang. I will give 20 Bucks to whoever goes to church in full leather attire. After we have enjoyed the area around us sufficiently we will pack everything up and drive back over the hill to our families.
